Head hair restoration: Does it work? Yes! Using low level 'laser' light stimulation we can stop hair loss in 85% of cases and 57% of case also increase hair growth!
Why Have Your Bikini Area Done?
To reduce or eliminate problem skin in this area. Shaving, waxing, or any other method of massive plucking causes irritations, breakouts, and ingrown hairs.
- For a much cleaner, smoother look. No hair sticking out of the bathing suit.
- Very sexy—get a well-groomed sophisticated look. It's not just the models who do this now!
- Your health—those ingrown hairs cause infections and acne-like pustules.
- Eliminate residual smells that are held by hair in these areas.
Is it safe
Yes if it is done by a CME (title endowed upon someone whom has extensive training in laser, IPL and needle electrolysis methods and has passed the national/international board exams and is given a certification # that can be checked at http://scmhr.org/ (SCMHR.org) - mine is M03060507 If you are deciding on who to do this with ask for their number and check to see if they are really certified!
How Is It Done?
This area can be done with LASER/IPL or standard needle electrolysis. The best solution is usually a combination of both starting with LASER/IPL and final cleanup with the needle/probe. Or a taper off (extending visits farther apart) with IPL at the end.
- The area is cleaned.
- A topical analgesic or anesthetic is applied.
- If LASER/IPL is being done, the area is shaved. Also, if shaping is being done, the area is shaped and trimmed to shape for either method.
- The area is dried for LASER/IPL.
- The actual hair removal begins.
- A cooling after-treatment is applied, and the patient is allowed to rest for several minutes to cool down the area and for the practitioner to check on skin reactions to the procedure. This allows for the increase or decrease of settings for the follow-up sessions.
- Scheduling of follow-ups and review of postoperative care.
How Much Does It Cost?
Check on current prices with Bryan, but at the time of creating this Web site the bikini area is:
- First session: $190
- Follow-ups: $96
- Electrolysis cleanup (if there are any white hairs): $2 per minute with a minimum of $26
How Many Follow-Ups Are Needed?
First of all, I must state that this is variable from person to person based on:
- Skin type
- Hair color
- Heredity
- Hormones
The average person needs between 4–7 treatments to get the 70–90% hair reduction and some amount of electrolysis cleanup to improve on these numbers. The determination on increased number of LASER/IPL treatments is simply based on cost-benefit analysis, based on type, color, and density of remaining hair.
What Is a Bikini Area?
The area that falls between the hip bones on the front side of the body, including the pubic area (your choice as to having this area shaped or not), including a 2" strip down the upper thigh all the way to the anus. The exact area within this defined area to actually be worked is totally your choice, and there are many reasons to work these areas, not the least of which is aesthetics. I have had several doctors and nurse practitioners as well as many other professionals ask for these services based on both medical reasons and aesthetics. Some of the concerns listed were:
- Hygiene.
- Toilet paper gets tangled in pubic hair.
- Unseemly smells.
- Gets in the way during intimate encounters.
- Many others.
What Shapes Are Available for Pubic Shaping?
Traditional—The standard natural v-shape but brought back to the controlled size you want.
- Modified Traditional—V-shaped but smaller or lower than nature intended.
- Brazilian—shaped like south America.
- Mohawk—A basic straight vertical line on each side, with many options on top and bottom. This may be of any size you like from a 3"-wide strip to a tiny ˝"-wide by 2"-long strip.
- Thong—A cross between Brazilian and traditional. Very elongated v-shape giving wide clearance for a variety of swimsuits and other clothing.
- Nude—Completely remove all hair.
- Art—Various shapes may be made out of the hair available. Think of a hair-too instead of a tattoo.
